IKE will assist in setting up location at Martindale Brightwood Community Center. Looking at date in early October. Further information will be sent out once we secure the community center and date. Please let Debbie or Cece know if you would like to be a part of this task force. Last year was well received. We need help doing a better job of promoting this year.

Elections for new AAI Chair:

  • The term ended for our current Chair, Debbie Koehl on June 30, 2011
  • AAI needs a volunteer for a new chair. We have tried elections in the past but in the past 2 terms we can’t get one member to come forward.   It is not a big time commitment. If you have any interest please speak with Debbie Koehl or Robin Costley. We need the community involvement to continue our community- based coalition offering asthma advocacy, awareness, management and prevention.

2011 Asthma Report Update

Work is continuing on the 2011 asthma report on accomplishments and services provided by the AAI. The report will also include an epidemiology report, “Catching Your Breath: Asthma in Marion County, 2011”.   Millicent Fleming-Moran has prepared the data report, PhD at MCPHD Dept. of Epidemiology. Plan is to have report in print and ready to distribute at our November meeting.

Website

Comments or suggestions always welcome concerning our website. Still looking for someone to manage the AAI website for the coalition.
